What is a power pack?
When powering hydraulic systems, a power pack is used. Other names for these are: hydraulic power pack or compact unit.
The components of a power pack largely consist of:
- a motor
- a reservoir
- a hydraulic pump
The motor is connected to and drives the hydraulic pump via a shaft. The hydraulic pump converts electrical energy into hydraulic energy. This is also known as creating hydraulic pressure and providing flow rate.
